Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to replace or remove and reinstall an air filter on this 2000 Chevy Cavalier. This vehicle has the four-cylinder engine. The only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a large flat blade screwdriver.
The air filter's located on the driver's side right behind the battery. There are two clips that hold a wire that goes across. Just use a small screwdriver to pry open the clips and pull the wire out. Then use a large flat blade screwdriver. There are four screws around the edge of the air filter and remove those with the flat blade screwdriver. Once you have those loosened, you pull the air box right up and the air filter comes out.
Air filter goes down in, make sure it's seated correctly. The top of the box just goes right back on, and then tighten up those four screws. The four screws never actually come out of the top of the air box, they're actually just held in there so they just stay in place. You just go around and tighten them right up. Then we'll just tighten those up, just put that cable right back into the clips and make sure they lock in place. You should be all set.
