step 1 :Removing the Air Filter
- Pull down on the clips on the air box
- Lift the air box cover
- Remove the air filter

step 2 :Installing the Air Filter
- Vacuum any debris inside the air box
- Insert the air filter into place
- Press on the air box cover
- Pull up on the clips on the air box

In this video, we are going to show you how to service the air filter on this 2003 Ion with a 2.2-liter, same as any '03 to '07.
To start out, there are three clips on the housing: one up top and two on the sides. Pull this up out of the way. Pull your air cleaner out, I think you might want to just seeing this stuff in here.
Use a vacuum and clear that out.
Make sure your air cleaner goes back down correctly. There are tabs on this side and slots in the housing. Make sure that you get those tabs all lined up. Push it down and re-clip it.
