How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a dirty, dusty or clogged engine air filter on 05 Chevy Avalanche

step 1 :Removing the Air Filter
- Remove the four T25 Torx screws from the air filter housing cover
- Lift the cover
- Remove the air filter

step 2 :Installing the Air Filter
- Insert the air filter into the air filter housing
- Tighten the four T25 Torx screws to the cover

T25 Torx Driver
Use a T25 Torx to remove the four Torx-head screws that are in each corner of the air box. That one's a little tricky to get to. You need to move the air box off its mounts. It should just pull straight up. With the last screw removed, you can lift the air box cover up. Slide the air filter out, picking it up.
Reinstall the air filter. Place it down. Seal goes to the top. Make sure you sit the cover down over it so it sits evenly and seals. Reinstall self-tapping screws. Get them started by hand. These are just going into plastic, so once they get tight, I'm going to stop. Make sure that your air box is seated back onto its mounts and your air filter's replaced.
