  1. step 1 :Removing the Engine Air Filter

    • Lift the airbox cover
    • Remove the air filter
  2. step 2 :Installing the Engine Air Filter
    • Insert the air filter into the airbox housing
    • Close the air box cover
    • Tighten the four 8mm bolts

Tools needed

  • Socket Extensions

    Phillips Head Screwdriver

    8mm Socket

    Ratchet

    4mm Socket

This is your airbox. The air filter's in here. There is four eight-millimeter bolts that also have Phillips head to them, so if you don't have an eight-millimeter socket, I'm using this eight-millimeter socket line extension. If you don't have that, you should be able to put a Phillips head screwdriver in here to unscrew this one and this one. There's one back here. There should be one over here.

Our car, it is actually broken off due to rust, so I'm only going to remove the three that are here. These screws are also captured in the plastic of the airbox, so once they're loose, once they're unscrewed, they won't come fully out, so don't try to pull them out.

Normally, there would be a fourth one. It would be back here. You'd remove it, and you take the airbox and lift it up off. You get it out of your way. This is just like a spring clamp on the intake hose. You can lift it up and just pull it off. I'm going to lay it right here, take the air filter out and change it. This one is pretty clean. I'm going to leave it alone. Place it the same way you took it out.

Our airbox cover—I'm going to lift up the intake hose. There's two tabs on the airbox cover and a tab on the intake hose. That's going to line up. This is going to push in. This airbox down on the filter, and reinstall the screws, bolts, and stop when I feel these get tight, and the last one would be over here.
