Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly; that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we're going to show you how to fix a common problem with these Cherokees: the droopy door weather strip hangs down sometimes. All you really need is some 3M weather strip adhesive, which we sell on our website 1AAuto.com. A real pain in the butt that happens on these things and it's really simple to fix. We sell this weather strip adhesive on our website. Just pull this down and you want to follow the directions. The directions say put some on the car and put it on the weather strip itself. I'm just going to take some, and you can see that it doesn't look like Chrysler put too much on here at all, if any. Then you ought to put some in this groove here. It's kind of the middle groove and I'm not going to put it down in the groove, I'm going to put it on the side. So, I'm putting it right in here. Like I said, right on the side of the weather strip. What I can see actually is that Chrysler put some weather strip adhesive down in, but that never ever contacted this part of the car. So now what it says to do is let that dry for a couple of minutes and we'll do that and then we'll put it right on there. So now I'm just going to take it and stick it right up where it's supposed to be. Press it on and it's best actually after you do that to shut the door and let it dry for about a half an hour in place.
