Check out this video to learn how to replace the dome light bulbs on your 02-09 Toyota 4Runner.
Hey, friends. It's Len here from 1A Auto. Today, we're going to be working on our 2006 Toyota 4Runner, and I want to show you how to remove and re-install a dome light bulb. We're going to take out the old one, show you what it looks like, and what I do want to show you is a new LED bulb. It's going to look super sweet. It's going to be much brighter. It's the way to go. Come on in, let's check it out.
So, this is what it looks like right now, fairly dim. Maybe you could read your newspaper if you're lucky. I don't know. We're going to turn it off. We'll just take off this cover up here, got a little pocket screwdriver. There's these little tabs, you can see where you're supposed to put it into and you can take right down this lens. Just like that. Drop it down. That's what our lens looks like. We'll set this aside. Right here is our bulb. To take that out, I'm just going to try to grab that tab with my thumb and I'm going to slide this down. There it is. And, here's our bulb. As you can tell, it's getting a little dark. I would say that this one's pretty much on its way to go, so I don't see why I wouldn't want to replace it.
We've got ourselves one of these bad boys right here. As you can tell, it's going to be pretty awesome. Let's try it out. If you wanted to replace this, it would be a 3175 bulb.
So, we've got our bulb. It's going to go right up in here. We've got this little prong. It's going to go up inside this ear right there. We're going to do this side last. I just push this up and in. It should want to slide up. Once you're sure it's nice and secure, we'll grab our little cover here. Put that right on there. Let's test it out. Oh, holy moly. That's way brighter. Awesome. And, if you wanted to do this dome light as well, same process.
