How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a bad or broken distributor on 00 Nissan Pathfinder
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
Alright we're going to remove the cap in the rotor. We don't want to take the wires off; we're going to leave those wires on so that we know where they were located. They are all labeled so like this is cylinder number one, two, three, four, five and six.
So I'm going to start with a Phillips head screw. I'm going to take this screw out right here. This one will come out. There's another screw back here. We’re going to pull this screw out, right there like that. All right, so we're going to take our rotor off. There's a little Phillips head screw down here. If your rotor is positioned in a different spot, what you can do is you can turn the crank a little bit to get it so you can access the screw. But ours is all set. All right so I got that screw out, now I can grab on the rotor and just pull it straight up. Just like that.
All right so we're going to install the new rotor; we're going to line it up where the old one was, and then there's a new bolt that comes with it. A new Phillips head screw. So we'll screw this Phillips head screw in. And you'll snug that down, not too tight. And then we'll take our new cap. That's where the number one wire goes. Line that up with that.
Now we're going to tighten down the distributor cap. This one, the screws are already in the cap. They stay with the cap, so we'll just snug these down. Just like that. Make sure it's snug. And that's good. So now that, that's on, we can look at our old cap. Cylinder one, we're going to take this wire off. Just twist it back and forth. Pull it off and that will go right here.
On cylinder number one, we're going to do the same with the other ones. You could just mark these all before you do it or you can just do them one at a time. So that's cylinder number two. This one right here. And that's cylinder number three wire. And then number four, that'll go right here. And then cylinder number five wire. And then last, cylinder number six wire. All right and that's it.

See why replacing your cloudy headlights with new ones is always better than refinishing them Why should you replace your headlights and not clean or refinish them? Three reasons: It's a simple fix, it increases visibility, and it enhances the overall look of your vehicle. Headlights are made from a polycarbonate plastic that can be damaged by UV rays from the sun or suffer pitting caused by road debris light salt and rocks. If you look closely at an old set of headlights, you'll see that the lens is full of micro-cracks. This is called crazing. This crazing, along with pinning, will turn your headlights from crystal clear to hazy yellow and it cuts the output in half, making it very difficult to see at night. It also makes your car look old and dated. With parts from 1AAuto.com and our how-to videos, you can make your vehicle look new and stay safe on the road.
