How to remove a cracked or broken cargo box on 96 GMC Sierra K1500

step 1 :Removing the Cargo Box
- Open the storage box and remove the lid
- Pry out the two tabs with a flat blade screwdriver
- Remove the 13mm nut from inside the wheel well

step 2 :Installing the Cargo Box
- Insert the cargo box into place
- Tighten the 13mm nut to the box
- Press the lid on

Here are the items you'll need for this repair.
Open your storage box and remove the lid. There are two tabs located at the front that you'll want to pry out with a flat blade screw driver and lift up. Remove the 13 millimeter nut inside the wheel well with a 13 millimeter socket and ratchet.
Reinstall the cargo box. Reinstall the 13 millimeter hold down nut. Reinstall the lid.
