Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to replace the cabin air filter on this 2001 VW Passat, same as any 98-01 and pretty much similar for the 02-05 as well. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver.
So we're here right in front of the passenger compartment on the passenger side. In the back of the engine compartment is a little Phillips screw here. Remove that. Once you pull that screw up out of there, you just pull firmly on this panel and it comes out and then filter that a lot of people don't even know about, basically pull it. Pull it right out. Leaves and stuff, get that out. Your filter from 1A Auto is obviously a lot cleaner. Airflow arrows go down. It's got a little lip on it here that you can bend over. I'm just going to feed it right in to a certain extent. Just push it down in here. Okay, then the panel just goes back in. Push it right in.
