how to Replace Cabin Filter 2005-10 Hyundai Accent

Created on: 2017-08-23

New Cabin Air Filter from 1AAuto.com How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a dirty, dusty or clogged air filter on 07 Hyundai Accent

  1. step 1 :Removing the Cabin Air Filter
    • Open the glove box
    • Slide the two stoppers out of the glove box
    • Lower the glove box
    • Release the cabin air filter cover tabs
    • Pull off the air filter cover
    • Carefully pull out the cabin air filter
  2. step 2 :Installing the Cabin Air Filter
    • Slide the cabin air filter into place with the airflow arrows pointing down
    • Clip the air filter cover into place
    • Lift the glove box into position
    • Install the two glove box stoppers
    • Close the glove box

To change the cabin air filter, open the glove box. There are two stoppers preventing the glove box from falling. You need to pop these out and kind of reach behind them, push them in, and then pull them backwards a bit. Take some of the pressure off the glove box by moving it in. Just kind of slide them out. They've got some rubber on them that keeps the glove box from falling. Put those aside. We'll get the other one out. You can see they're right here. See this tab right here? Push that in. Push the glove box up and then slide it back and maneuver it out of the hole on the side of the glove box. The rubber can get kind of stuck in there. It's just real soft rubber. It'll come out. The glove box is going to want to fall all the way down, so just lower it.

The cabin air filter's behind this cover. You'll squeeze these tabs here and these tabs over here. Pull the cover straight off. See the cabin filters in here? I’m just going to try and work it out of here. You may have to push it in to get your finger around it. Just pull it straight out. You might have a bunch of debris in it. So you want to hold it vertical so you don't dump it all over your interior.

So actually, under this flap, I couldn't pull it up in the car, but it should help you pull it out if you can pull it up. There's an arrow. That is the direction of airflow. It's pointing down. So on the new one here, the arrows are pointing down.

We're going to install it in the same manner. Our direction of airflow in this car is down through the filter, so those arrows needs to be pointing down when you install it. Let's just slide it right back in. Flip that down.

Reinstall our cover. Snap into place. Take these stoppers for the glove box. There are a couple pine needles left over. Now lift the glove box back up. I'm going to slide this in like this. It's going to go through the hole. It's easier to see it like this. I'll just show you real quick. It's going to go through like this and then up, but this needs to be on the other side of this plastic. I’m just trying to help illustrate how it goes in and that's how you take them out, but this needs to go up this way and in and that will hold the glove box. It’s the same thing on the other side. It's going to go in. Flip it. It'll go up. Snap in and put your stuff back in your glove box. Your cabin filter's replaced.
