In this video, we're going to be working with our 2012 GMC Acadia. We're going to show you how to lower the glove box fully so we can access the air box and change and inspect our cabin air filter. If you like this video, please click subscribe. We have a ton more information on this vehicle, as well as many other makes and models. If you ever need parts for your car, follow the link down in the description over to 1AAuto.com.All you'll need for this procedure is a new cabin air filter, if yours is dirty, and your hands.

Open your glove box, lift up on the outside stop here, lift up until it clicks, and then remove it from the opening. You have two tabs in the back here. You want to lift up on the glove box a little, and rotate those one click counter-clockwise, and push them out, at which point your glove box will lay down flat.

Push down on the clips to release the door cover for the cabin air filter, and slide the entire assembly out of the air box. Remove the cabin air filter from the tray.

You can see here, we have an arrow on there that designates our air flow, so we want to be sure we install our new one the same way. You can see how dirty the old filter is there. These are usually full of pine needles and debris from parking under trees and being outside. This filters all the air that comes in from outside to be pushed through your air box inside the vehicle.

Reinstall the cabin air filter with the arrows facing down. Make sure it doesn't wrinkle, that it stays nice and flat to the edges here. The two clips that are closer together will go up top. We'll put this back into the slot in the air box, push it in until it clicks, and then push our glove box back up.

These tabs will lock facing this way into the channels over here. Make sure they face the correct direction into the slots, and turn them one turn clockwise to lock them back into place. We'll slide the stop back into the keyhole at the top, close your glove box, and you're good to go.
