Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to swap out a battery on this 2005 GMC Savana 2500. The tools that you'll need include an 8mm, a 13mm, and a 19mm socket and a ratchet.
The first thing that you want to do is disconnect the battery. You can see the negative is an 8mm and the positive is a 19mm. You want to remove the negative first, then the positive. We're just fast-forwarding as he does this. Now with those disconnected you can get down to the battery hold-down. It's a 13mm bolt. You just want to remove that, and again we'll fast-forward as he does this. Now with your battery free you can just lift it straight out.
Now to put in the new battery, you just want to tilt one end down in and lower the battery down into position. Now just replace that battery tray and we'll fast-forward as he tightens that 13mm bolt.
Next what you want to do, replace that 19mm bolt in the positive. Now you want to replace that 8mm on the negative. It's all set.
