In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the battery on this 2006 Jeep Liberty. The only tools you'll need is the 10 mm socket and a ratchet and possibly a 12 mm socket as well. The battery's located right here and it's held down with this bracket and the 10 mm bolt. Start off by removing the 10 mm bolt and that bracket will pull right up and out. Our negative battery cable has been replaced in the past but we just want to loosen up the nut on the clamp; ours is 12 mm. Then remove the cable. Do the same thing to the positive battery cable, loosen up that 10 mm nut, lift it up and off and then just lift the battery up and out. Lower your new battery into place. First, put on your positive and tighten up that 10 mm nut. Replace that cover so you can avoid accidentally hitting it and then put your negative cable back into place and tighten up that nut. You put that bracket back down into place and replace that 10 mm bolt and tighten it up.
