How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a dirty, dusty or clogged air filter on 09 Nissan Rogue

There are no tools required for this repair.
Your air filter is located just behind the battery. Push down on the tabs on either side of the lid, and lift the lid up. At this point you can reach in and remove your air filter. It's also the actual housing for the air filter comes out with it.
Now this one is not terribly dirty, but we are going to be replacing it anyway. It's a good amount of dust and debris in there, not a whole lot of oil or anything really bad. But since we have it out, we'll put a new one in. So again, our old filter is not terribly dirty, but you can see that there's a significant difference between the two of them.
To install our new one, just pop it in to the holder, which goes in this way, slide it all the way down and in, and then these little wedges here will go on the front side toward the battery and those, as we lock the lid down we'll push it forward and seal that rubber against this to make sure that all the air in our engine goes through the filter.
