Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we are going to show you how to replace the air filter on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL and it's the same part and similar process on the regular Envoys as well. The items you'll need for this are a 10 millimeter socket and ratchet, and either a flat blade screwdriver or a Philips screwdriver.
Start of by removing these two 10 millimeter bolts and we'll fast forward as Mike as does that. Just pull that bar out and then you want to remove these four screws using either a flat blade screwdriver or a Philips screwdriver and they won't entirely remove but you'll know when they've come all the way up. Once you've done that, lift up on the air intake box and tilt it back and pull your air filter out.
Take your new air filter and feed it down into place. Make sure it's all the way in and then lower the top of your air intake box back down. Then just make sure that everything is lined up, and then we'll fast forward as Mike tightens up those four screws. Slide that bar back into place and replace those two 10 millimeter bolts and tighten them up.
