Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service as well as replace the third brake light on this 2009 Nissan Titan. The tools you'll need are a putty knife or flat blade screwdriver and an 8mm socket and ratchet.
Underneath the third brake light, inside the cab of the truck, you'll see these two plastic caps. Using a putty knife or a flat blade screwdriver, just pry them free. Inside each hole, there's an 8mm nut. We'll just fast forward as Don removes those. Now pull your third brake light free and then push the tab on the harness and disconnect it.
To service the bulbs just twist the socket counterclockwise, pull the old bulb out, push your new bulb in, and twist it clockwise to lock it. The two side lights are the same thing. Just twist them, pull the bulb out, and twist them clockwise to lock them.
Connect your harness to your new third brake light and push it back into place. Now place the 8mm nut into your socket and feed it up onto the stud and twist it on and tighten it up. Repeat the process for the other one. Now replace those two caps and you're all set.
