Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall a rear door panel on this 2002 Ford Escape. It's the same as any 2001 to 2004 Escape, and similar for the Mariner as well. The only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
To start out, there's a Phillips screw in the door pull here. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry out this little trap door and there's another Phillips screw in there. Fast forward as we use a Phillips screwdriver to remove those two screws. Pull that out. Right here, work your fingers underneath and pull out on this panel. Reach in behind and pull firmly out on the door panel. It comes out. Behind, there's a small tab. You reach underneath and disconnect your window harness.
To reinstall the door panel, put it close, and reconnect your window switch. Look for the clips. Put them into where they start in on both sides. Push the top right in. Fast forward from here on out. Basically just set all those clips. Be careful. Look back in, and make sure you get the clips going into their holes before you use the back of your hand to punch them in. Make sure you put the bezel back on the door handle. Put the two screws back in and once those screws are back in, put the rear bezel back on and you're all set.
