Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to remove and re-install a rear door panel on this 1998 Volvo S70. Tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver, T25 Torx driver, and either a household putty knife or a door panel clip tool.
We're going to remove the rear door panel. When you start there's a little kind of trap door here. You can either use a little screwdriver or just a thumb or fingernail, get in behind, and pull that off. Then there's a T25 Torx screw in behind, remove that. Now, you want to remove this bezel around your door handle. You can just kind of put your fingers underneath and start prying out. That comes off. Now you either want a door panel clip tool or a putty knife. Put it in between the door and the panel and you want to slide down. You'll feel a clip here, pull out. Do the same thing on the back here. Pull out and then pick up. There are a few connectors back here. Usually, you just press on a tab and pull it off. The tab on this one is probably underneath so work your finger back in there. Pull that off. Then your door panel comes off.
To reinstall, first, just make sure all your clips are still on the door panel. If they're in the door, pry them out and then put them back in the door panel. You're going to want to reconnect your harnesses. Put your door lock through. Press your panel towards the window. On my panel, the weather strip came with the panel. You want to take that weather strip off. You install it on here first. Put this door lock through. Push your panel and make sure it goes down in that weather strip. Now your clips should all line up. Replace this T25 screw. Put your trap door back in and reinstall the bezel around your handle.
