How to Remove Overhead Console 2008-12 Ford Escape

step 1 :Removing the Overhead Console
- Open the glasses holder door
- Remove the two Phillips screws
- Press the locking tab with a pick tool by inserting it through the rectangular hole
- Pull the overhead console out and down
- Disconnect the two electrical connectors

step 2 :Installing the Overhead Console
- Reconnect the electrical connectors
- Replace the overhead console at the top first and then rotate it in to lock the tab
- Replace the two Phillips screws
- Close the glasses holder door

What's up guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video, I'm going to show you how to remove and reinstall this overhead console on this 2012 Ford Escape.

Now just open this glasses holder, and take a Phillips head screwdriver and take these two Phillips head screws out.
So what you want to do is take a right-angle pick, get in here and just push back. Right there is a retainer that holds that in. Slide this down, and then slide forward and pull it down.
This is where that clip is. In this vehicle it's actually broken, but it's okay because the screws are going to hold it up. So if you break that clip, don't be too concerned because you have the screws.
And here you disconnect this connector right here and just push on the lock tab. And the same as right here. Push down and slide it out.
And I'll take this connector, connect the center switch. Make sure you go the right direction. And then this other connector, slide that in there.
I can take this and slide it up. Open the glasses holder. Now, if your connector wasn't broken, the retainer ring broken, lock that in place. And you can take that Phillips head screws, get this started. And get this one started. And then I can snug them down.
