step 1 :Removing the Door Panel
- Pry up the window switch panel with a flat blade screwdriver
- Disconnect the window switch wiring harnesses
- Remove the Phillips head screw inside the door handle
- Remove the Phillips head screw inside the door pull
- Pull out the door handle
- Unclip the latch rod from the door handle
- Pry off the mirror base trim piece with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pry out the door panel with a door panel clip tool or putty knife
- Lift the door panel up and off

step 2 :Reinstalling the Door Panel
- Lift the door panel into place
- Push in the door panel clips
- Clip the latch rod onto the door handle
- Insert the Phillips screw into the door handle
- Insert the Phillips screw into the door pull
- Connect the window switch wiring harnesses
- Push in the window switch panel
- Push on the mirror base trim piece

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and replace the door panel on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7. The only tools that you're going to need for this are a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by prying up your switch panel. Then push the tab on the harnesses and pull them free. Next, remove the Phillips screw in the door handle, and the other one down in the pull handle. Now pull your door handle out and pry this clip off the door handle rod and then pry the rod up and out of the door handle.
Pull off this triangular panel. Now pry out along the edges of the door panel, to release the clips, and then lift the door panel up and off the lock rod.
Now to replace the door panel, push your harnesses through the door panel. Then put the door panel down over the door lock, and into the window sill. Next, hit in the clips around the edges of the door panel. Put the rod back into the door handle and re-clip it, and replace those two Phillips screws.
Reconnect the harnesses to your switch panel, and push it back down into place and replace that triangular panel. You're all set.
