In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and re-install a front door panel on this 1998 Volvo S70, similar for the other Volvo models. Tools you'll need are a 10mm wrench, small flat blade screwdriver, T25 Torx driver and either a household putty knife or a door panel clip tool if you have one.

With a 10 millimeter wrench, loosen up your negative battery cable and disconnect it.

To remove your door panel, you'll probably notice there's a little trapdoor here. There's a slot you're going to insert a small screwdriver into or just use your fingernail and pull it out. Now inside, there's a T25 Torx screw and you use a driver to remove that. Now for your bezel around your handle, you can probably just use your fingers and get them up underneath there and that bezel comes off. Now around the edge, there's about six clips, two in the front, two on the bottom and I think two in the back and either use a door panel clip tool or a household putty knife. Either one will work. The clip tool, if you can get it right on the clips, what you want to do is put it in, slide it until you feel a clip and then slide out and pull. We'll speed it up here, too, as we just pop the rest of those clips out all around the edge. Once you have those clips released, this corner just pulls right off and then pull your door panel out and lift it up. Now, there's a series of harnesses, they all have little tabs. You press the tab and then pull the harness out. There's one green one here for your trunk and gas door and press a tab, pull it out. Then there's a couple here that go into your power window and lock switch. Again just press the tabs and pull out. Now, your door panel comes out. This harness connection was a little tough because you have to get your finger right in there to get that tab.You may find after you take your door panel off a couple of the clips stay behind. You just want to pry those out and then they can just slide right back into your door.

To re-install your door panel just reverse the procedure. You want to get it close here and plug in your window and locks. This goes in here. Plug this one in back here. Then, get your door lock through. Make sure your top wedge goes into the weather strip and down. Now make sure all your clips go in. Put inthat T25 Torx screw and your little trapdoor, the bezel for your door handle, and this little trim piece up here. You're all set. Reconnect your negative battery cable and tighten it up with a 10mm wrench.
