Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to remove the front door panel on this 2005 Nissan Maxima. Pretty much the same for any 2004 to 2008 Maxima. The tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm socket with a ratchet and extension.
Take a small screwdriver. There's a little kind of trap door right behind your handle here. Pry that right out. Carefully, go up on the back of your power switch plate here. Pry it up and this comes up and out. You'll disconnect a harness here by pressing on a button. The button's in the back. Press and pull on this one. Same thing with the little button. Press and pull.
Take your screwdriver again. Kind of pry in behind this panel and trim, just carefully, firmly pull it out. The trim's pulled out. Now, there are three 10mm bolts to remove: one right back in there, one right back in there, and one right behind your door panel. Just speed up here as we just remove those three 10mm bolts. Again, one from behind the handle and two from behind the pole.
Once you removed those, you just kind of grab the side of your panel here and pull it firmly up. Pull out these cables. Pull firmly away from the door and then the cable comes up. Same one with here: firmly away from the door. And you just have to pull your lock button and pull the cable up and out. Then, down further, there's just two connections same thing as the other ones.
Just hold your door panel, keep it kind of close. Plug in our harness connections down here. Make sure they're clipped in. Now, up here, the one with kind of the L-shaped goes on top. That's your walk. It just goes into the little hole. Down in the hole then swing it around. This one goes in the hole, swings around pretty easy. Make sure these harnesses go up well there.
Press the panel against the window. Slide it down into place. Make sure you have our harnesses. Line up the pins right around. Speed up here as we reinstall those two 10 mm bolts behind the door pole. Connect the switch panel. Front down in first and then lock it back in place. Make sure it all goes down. Put this panel into place. Put the bolt back in here. Put the old trim door on there.
