Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 + years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we are going to show you have to remove and reinstall the front door panel on this 2000 Honda Accord. It's the same as any 98 to 02 four door. The tools you will need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
We are going to start by removing this triangle panel by pulling it off. You are going to pull a little pin out here and then there's two Phillips screws. One you can see right here. On your vehicle it may have a little trim door in front of it. Then the other one you can see down in your arm rest or pull handle here. Just use the screwdriver to pry up and you can see it right in there.
You are going to use a little flat blade screwdriver and pull out this pin here. Phillips screwdriver here. Keep track of it. Remove this Phillips screw. Now this panel right here you can sort of grab this side and pull. It has a couple of clips that go in there. Now you will want to take your switch panel, pull up, back and out and then all the connections just have little buttons on there. This blue one, the button is right here. Push the button down like that. The brown button is right here. Disconnect. The gray one, the button is right here. Disconnect.
One thing I've got in here, your door handle. Pull it forward and then out. See that there's a little old clip right here. Just take your thumb, pull the clip off and then the rod pops up and out. Then another little connector here.
After that just take your hand behind and there are some clips. Pull the door panel up and off. Now in behind again. This is our courtesy light. Just twist it counter clockwise and pull it out. There's another connector here. Push the button and disconnect it and now your door panel is off.
Reinstallation is just the reverse. Connect your upper door lock lead. Put the courtesy light in and twist clockwise. Now make sure these harnesses are sent up through there. Then into your door lock harness. Life your panel up and push it into the window fitting. Make sure you get your door lock through. Just slide it down again checking for your harnesses to make sure they are up and through. Everything looks like it's on correctly. Push the pins back in. For the door handle pull your rod out, push in the handle and put the clip around and connect it. Connect your leads to the door lock. Push the handle in and slide it back. Your switch panel here connect the blue one, the brown one and the gray one. Put this down in and slide it up in place and push down. Put the screw in down in its place. Put the door handle screw in. Then you might have a little door there that's locked in place. Lock this one down. This goes in that little tab. Make sure that it's behind the door panel. This presses on. Then here's your little pin here.
