In this video, we're going to show you the door panel removal and replacements on this 2008 HHR, same as any '06 to 2010. The only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver, a T30 Torx driver and either a putty knife or a door panel clip tool.

First, down inside your pull cup here, you'll see a little tab. Grab the tab. Pull up the little rubber plate. Then there's two T30 Torx screws in there. Then take a little screwdriver and pry out underneath this little tee point here. There's a T30 Torx screw in there. We'll need to use a little fast motion here as I remove those three T30 screws. Right down here, there's a little pin. I'm just going to pry it out with the screwdriver. I'm going to take a putty knife first. Put it back in there. Pull and use the door panel clip tool if you like. Find the rest of the pins. Look in there to save time. Actually, what I've eventually found in this is it's easy once you get the door panel out a little bit. Just run your fingers underneath the door panel until you come to one of the clips and then give it a good pull and it comes apart. Now, with the door panel out, there's a little tab on your cable here for the door handle. Push that back. That slides up and off. Then just use a little small screwdriver. There are two clips that it clips into. What you're doing basically is just prying here and here to release that lock button.

Plug the lock back in. Then for our cable, make sure the cable goes down into the handle. Then slide that, it goes down into a little slot. It clips right on. Make sure your lock button goes through the door panel on top. What I'm doing here is pushing with my thumbs to make sure that the tongue goes into the clips on the top of the door panel. Just right up the top, just peek in behind and guide the pins into the holes, all the way around. This little clip, push it in, and push the center in. Speed up at the end here. Put the two Torx screws down in the door pull area there and then, put the screw in behind the door handle and tighten those up. Put the trim plate back down in and the trim plate behind the door handle and you're all set.
