How to Remove Door Panel 1997-2005 Chevy Venture

In this video, we're going to be showing you how to remove and reinstall the door panel on this 99 Venture. The same as 97 to 05 GM minivan Venture, Silhouette, Montana. The tools you'll need are flat blade screw driver and 10 millimeter socket ratchet and this is basically the same for the passenger side as well. First you're going to want to pry up this screws plate. Okay, and then actually unplug three connectors and I find it easiest to just kind of press on this black tab and then pry. Okay, and this green one and the same thing with the screw driver, press on that tab. Okay, and then this mirror switch, okay, there's a little tab right here. You need to pry back with your finger nail or a screw driver and then pull the connector out. Okay, I've already done that before so it looks kind of be easy. That will require some force usually the first time. Now again the screw driver, you're going to pry out this bezel here and the door handle. Now there are two 10 millimeter screws one right in there and then one right down there. You need to remove those.

Okay, and we'll speed up removing those and I'm using a 10 millimeter socket with a ratchet and extension. With those out, now there's a series of pins around the outside the perimeter and then too right in here that you need to pull out so that you can either use like a pointy knife or something to get underneath. I actually just worked my finger right underneath up here and then give a good tug, work down further, give a good tug. Okay, and work my way around the door panel and then it comes off. To reinstall the door panel, make sure you get all your parts up and through. I could put it back here because it's easy to see this pin, guide it right in there. Okay, then there's a pin in the front that just kind of guides it. Okay, put the bezel back in there. This screw, put into my extension socket first. If you want to tight them up firm, you don't want to be too tight because they just go into plastic so it could strip out. Side panel in here, lock window and all set.
