In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and install the door panel on this 2001 Ford Taurus. Procedure is the same for pretty much any 2000 to 2007 Taurus. The only thing you'll need, the only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver. First, you're going to want to remove seven screws, one here in the back of the door, one down below, two underneath the door pole here and then on the front, there's one, it's kind of difficult to see right there. Then down on the bottom, one there, one there. Once you got all those screws out, you kind of just want to reach under your door panel, carefully pull, there's some pins on the bottom, there's some up near the top here too. Get the lock up and out. Pull your door handle out. As you pull your door panel off, there's a little pin here on the door. Just kind of pull that and then there's thumb tabs right here on these connectors. Press down with your thumb. Okay, then these connectors, the tabs are actually on the back side, kind of press them with this finger.

Okay, your door panel is off. If you really want to, you could have use the screwdriver and pry this plate up and disconnect it first. It's just as easy to do it from the behind once you pulled the door panel off. At the back of your door panel, there are these large, two large pins, these are guide pins and then these yellow ones, you can see this one, the clip actually came out with it. These yellow ones are the ones that kind of press into the door. Okay, now we'll reconnect everything. Blue and gray go down to your power window switch. Green comes up here beside the door lock switch and then your mirror switch. Then take your little pin, press it into the door and work it in and take your handle. Push it out. Get the door on. Take the panel off. Put your lock in. Make sure the hinge go into place. You kind of want to do the whole thing at once. Okay, now, put the screws back on.
