How To Remove Door Panel 2000-04 Ford Focus

In this video, we show you how to remove the driver's door panel from this Ford Focus 3 door. This is a 2002. This is the same as any 2000 to 2004. Tools you'll need are T20 Torx driver and a flat blade screwdriver.

To remove your door panel, you need to remove a series of T20 Torxscrews. There's usually a door on here. You would pry it out of the way in that little space and there's one screw. There are a couple on the front here, one there and one further down. Then, there are four on the bottom, one there, one there, there, there, two on the back, there and there. Then, you also pry off this handle here carefully from underneath. There's two quarter inch bolts there and there.

First you remove this one. Then, use a screwdriver, carefully pry out here and then reach in here and pry, pull this handle out. There's a power window if you look right here, you'll see a little tab. Press on that tab and disconnect that harness, pull this out. On here, there's a little tab right here, press, pull that out. This panel right here, just grab hold of it, pull it out back and away. I'm going to remove the two quarter-inch and the T20 Torx screws. Then, we're going to fast forward quite a bit through doing all that because it's pretty monotonous and you don't need to see me struggling with them. Nothing there to struggle, but just don't want to bore you too much.

Once you have all those screws out, it helps to have the window down but it's not necessary. Pull the door panel out, up and off the window sill here, the panel's off. After you've done your project in the door whether changing a speaker or something, you want to pry your door handle off and let it hang down. It's a lot easier to get the door panel back on with the door handle off. Take our door panel. Make sure this little wire comes through there, the power steering part is there, lift this handle up, make sure our door handle wire goes there. Now we can put on our T20 screws. Again, like before, we'll fast forward through putting all those screws in.

This can go back on after you hook on to the cell panel here first. This little slot right here that the handle goes into, make sure you get this out of the way. The handle goes in, there you go and it snaps in there. Now we can re-install this handle connect the power to the switch, connect the lock switch like that, make sure this back part snaps in, snap the front part in, the last screw. Last but not least, put the top part in first, make sure it snaps back together and you're all set.
