Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you the safest places to put your jack and jack stands underneath this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. Lifting and supporting one of these Envoys, this is the same as a Trailblazer as well as Isuzu Ascender and Buick Rainier. They're a full frame vehicle, so you can see that it's got a nice big frame rail that extends from front to back. If you're lifting with a lift you can put the lift underneath where the control arms connect here from the rear suspension. You could also do it underneath the frame here. Then, I have the front of the lift at the front of the frame in front of this transmission control crossmember. If you're using a jack and jack stands to lift the rear of the vehicle you can lift on the axle. You want to make sure you don't bend this plate at all, so you want to put it under here, lift up the axle, and put your jack stands, again . you can actually put jack stands underneath the rear axle, if you want to, but if you need the axle to hang down, put the jack stands either under where the control arms connect or you can put the jack stands up a little further. For the front, the best place if you're looking to jack up both wheels is this large crossmember here. Obviously, you jack it up and then again put your jack stands on the frame just in front of this transmission crossmember. If you just want to put up one wheel, you could jack up underneath the control arm. Again, jack stand would go here.
