In this video, we're going to be working with our 2011 Chevy Camaro 3.6 liter 6-speed manual. We're going to show you how to raise and support this vehicle. Ours we have set up on front engine sub-frame here, and while we are using a lift, this will be the same if you're using a jack and jack stands.

In the back, we're on the vehicle's pinchwelds. It would also be acceptable to lift from the rear subframe here. However, you do not want to lift this vehicle from the differential, because the rear diff in this car is made out of aluminum and you don't want to risk cracking or breaking that.

You could also use either of these rails going down either side of the vehicle. And you could use the front pinchwelds; however, we have some plastic side trim here that got bent when we tried to lift it from there. So a jack and jack stands may be able to lift that a little more safely.

Ours looks like it is warped a little bit, but I just didn't want to risk damaging this vehicle. At the front of the vehicle, we have this large metal subframe, which cradles our engine. Just about anywhere on here is going to be okay to raise and support the vehicle from.

At the rear of the vehicle you can lift it from the pinchwelds, as well as from the rear subframes here. If you had to you could lift from the control arm but I don't recommend supporting it there because the vehicle can still move.

One thing you want to make sure you don't do is lift from the aluminum differential because this could crack and break making you need to replace it, because this is what drives the rear wheels of your vehicle.
