1A Auto explains and demonstrates the torquing sequence for different lug nut patterns.
Hi I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. Today I'm going to show you the proper tightening sequence on wheels with four lug nuts, five lug nuts, or six lug nuts. If you need parts for your vehicle click the link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.
We'll take our torque wrench, now with the four lug nuts we're going to take the socket, we're going to start right here and then go directly across to the next one, tighten that one. Then we're going to go up to here and then to tighten the next one go directly across again. So basically you start one, two, three, four, in that pattern.
For a five lug nuts we're going to take our torque wrench and socket. We're going to start there. Then we're going to go directly, almost across, tighten that one. Kind of like a star pattern, right there, then over here, and then right here. So just make like a star, start here to here, back to here, to there and to there.
To tighten a six lug we're going to use our torque wrench and socket. Start here. We're going to go directly across to there then we're going to go diagonal to here. Then directly across to there and then diagonal over to here and then directly across again. So we started here, went to here, went diagonal to there, then to there, directly across, and back again and then directly across again.
