Hi. I'm Mike from 1AAuto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

The rear hatch release button is electric. We touch that, it releases the latch. If your battery goes dead and you need to get the rear hatch open, as long as you can get one of the passenger compartment doors open, you can crawl through the cargo compartment. Fold down one of those seats.

There's a little door back here. You're going to pop this off with a flat blade screwdriver or a trim tool. You reach in with your flat blade screwdriver or trim tool. You push this white lever over. It's going to have some resistance to it because it's pushing against the motor. Oops. Oops, it’s slipping off. That will unlock the rear hatch and let it open. So you're just manually pushing that. It normally gets moved when the electric motor works. Then you push it open.

Ticking Clicking Noise Coming From Your Engine Diagnosing Collapsed Lifters

Andy diagnoses a top end clicking ticking noise in our Chevy Avalanche! Andy locates the clicking noise to the top driver side of the 5.3L V8 engine, and discovers an intermittent misfire in cylinder 1. After removing the valve cover, he finds a very loose rocker, the source of our noise. He determines the rocker is loose because its lifter has collapsed, meaning it's not pushing up on the rocker when activated by the camshaft. The fault is in the AFM (active fuel management) lifter.
