On these Subarus, you can find the fuse box location in your owner's manual or if you don't have an owner's manual, we'll show you where it is. Right here under the driver's side of the dash, you can pull this little cover down. You can actually pull it right off, and you can see where all the fuses are located and what they do.
Up under here is where the interior fuse box is. All you do is match up these with the fuse box, and you can locate your blown circuit. To put it back in, you just snap it back onto the dash and push it back into place. There's also a large number of fuses under your hood, which you can find right here on the driver's side. There's a clip on each side of the box that you push down to remove. In here, you can find some fuses and a couple of relays. These are usually the bigger circuit items, like an alternator or headlights—things like that. You can see what each of them does by looking at this diagram right here. You can match them up, so if you blow your headlights or your heater motor circuit, this is where you'll find it.
To remove a fuse, it comes with this great little tool, which grabs the fuse right on the top, and you can pull it right out. Most cars have these from the factory. They often get lost over the years, so it's great if your car still has one. And, of course, you can snap it back into place just like that.
To get the cover back on, it's as simple as taking it off. You put the pointy side towards the front, get that in place, and then make sure these little tabs are locked in.
