How to install, replace, change, a tri-fold tonneau cover on a 6 1/2 foot bed on 96 GMC Sierra K1500

Carefully place the tonneau cover onto the cab side of the bed, and align those edges. You'll want to make sure that the tonneau cover is both, straight, and even from side to side. Once you have that in place, undo the snaps, fold out the tonneau cover, remove packaging. Make sure these ends are aligned where you'd like them as well, and then carefully refold the cover without moving it. Make sure that the latches are folded down flat. You'll want to locate the locks so they hook under the edges of the bed. This is obviously too far out, so simply remove them and install them into the next slot and tighten them down.
You'll then need to install these safety straps. Simply loosen those up. Get them into place and tighten them back down. These are just an added precaution, so that if anything were to fail, the tonneau cover does not fly off of the truck. Fold the cover back out. Move the clamps into the appropriate slot. These should be the same as the ones you did on the other end. Line them up, so when they clamp onto the edges and have them be secure. Close your tailgate to check for proper alignment. To fold it, open your tailgate under your latches. Make sure the latches are laid flat in their holders. Fold it over and install the safety snaps.
