How to replace a broken or loose sun visor on 16 Ram 1500

step 1 :Removing the Sun Visor
- Swing the visor out toward the window
- Remove the 8mm bolts from the visor
- Pry the visor down and out of the headliner
- Disconnect the wiring harness
- Remove the T15 Torx screw from the clip
- Remove the visor clip

step 2 :Installing the Sun Visor
- Insert the clip into place
- Tighten the T15 Torx to the visor clip
- Connect the wiring harness
- Feed the wire into the ceiling
- Tighten the 8mm bolts to the visor

T15 Torx Driver
Phillips Head Screwdriver

To remove the visor, we'll pull it down and pop it off the clip. Swing it out. Use an eight millimeter socket on a driver handle. You really can't get a ratchet in here, but you should be able to get a socket in here with a driver handle. Then it's just like a screwdriver. Turn it loose. There's two of them. Get this one out. Put that aside and move this over. Then we get to this one. Pull that out. Pull the visor down out of the headliner. Just work it down out of the headliner.
I had to pop it off that clip there and then work the harness down. This is what powers the lighted vanity mirror. Get this tape out of here so I can see it. I'll lift up on this harness. We'll take a flat-bladed screwdriver and just pry gently up. Push this in a little bit, a little tricky. Pry this up. At the same time, pull the connector out just like that. Then we have our sun visor.
To remove the clip of the sun visor, it's a T15 Torx screw. Remove it. Pull the clip out. Reinstall it. Put it in place. Put the screw up. Find the opening for it. There it is. Just going to tighten it up. Don't go super tight. It's just a self-tapper going into the plastic. Once you feel it get tight, just stop.
Reinstall our sun visor. You got to make sure you plug it back in. It is keyed. It matches up with that connector, so your vanity lights will turn on. Click when it snaps into place. You're going to feed the wire up. You're going to have to bend the headliner down just a little bit at the edge, and push that connector up in there, and then just feed the wire up.
Then this is going to up and click into place just like that. Take our fasteners and reinstall them. As I feel it get tight, I'll stop. Let's move this around to the other side. We'll do the same for this. The passenger side sun visor can be removed and installed in the same manner.
