I'm going use my 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video. In this video, we're going to show you both headlight replacement and bulb replacement on a 2001 Chevy Impala, same as any 2000 to 2005. The only tool required is a flat blade screwdriver.

Okay, headlight replacement on a 2000 to 2005 Chevrolet Impala. You can see, close up here, why you might want to do it. A couple of reasons, on this light, you can see it's perfectly clean but it's been chipped, just kind of sand blasted away and it's dulled. You can see we already actually replaced this and you can see how much more clear it is. As the miles build up on these cars, it just kind of becomes necessary to replace them just to give you a better vision. You can also see obviously another reason, this car, another reason that light is already replaced. There's a little bit of damage right there which affected the headlight. It's been replaced already, no problem. I'm going to show you how easy it is. Now this will be useful for you if you damage your headlight or you want to replace them to make your car look better make the lights work better or if you just need to replace your bulbs.

Either way, it's a pretty easy process. There's a clip right here. Go up just a little bit, zoom in for you. Okay, there's a clip right here that you're going to pull out with a screw driver in a way that you pull the middle part out first. Okay, you see the middle part came out and then the whole thing will pry out. All you do that for is to move this up right here. Okay, once you kind of have that up out of the way, I'm going to ... It's a pretty good view. It's just two clips . plastic. Pull it up like that. The other one is here. It will come right out. Okay. Just re-position a little bit. Then the light, this will come out easy. Now, you might have to pull it a little bit the first time because the plastic is stuck in the middle and stuff.

Then the light comes out, okay, really easy. There's one connector here that you can disconnect. Okay, then your light is totally free from the vehicle. Okay, so then if you need to replace bulbs, these rubber things come off and then the bulbs twists out. Let's see. This one's probably the least easy one. Let's get a thumb lock there. This is interesting. As you can see in there, there's a thumb lock right there. Probably you can get that but then it has a thumb lock on it then it twists out, and obviously if you're replacing a turn signal, you get that yellow style bulb. Okay. Then the headlights are the same thing. Pull off the cover, untwist, then you can replace them. Not always the easiest to get back. Make sure you replace these dust covers.

You might have a difficulty with this. You put this on kind of get on the bottom, and then you need to make sure that you're going straight down. Sometimes, some people just kind of get it off the center and you won't be able to get it on. Or you think you have it together but it's not and then this works loose on your headlight, can fall out. When you put it down, you just want to make sure that you get this part right down over and get it all the way down. Okay. We'll put it in, connect the light. Make sure we're correct. It's on. Pull this up just a little bit. To get this other side in, you just pull that up a little bit, get it down in, make sure it's on correctly then just work this back down in. Okay, push that in, push that in and you're all set. That's how you do your light on one of these 2000, 2005 Impalas.
