How to Install Replace Glove Box Light Bulb 2004-07 Subaru Impreza WRX

How to replace a broken, damaged or burnt out glove box bulb to the 04 Subaru Impreza WRX.

step 1 :Removing the Glove Box
- Remove the plastic clip from the side of the glove box with a Phillips screwdriver
- Remove the two Phillips screws from the bottom of the glove box
- Open the glove box
- Empty the glove box
- Remove the five Phillips screws around the glove box
- Remove the two Phillips screws inside the glove box
- Pull the glove box out of the dashboard

step 2 :Removing the Glove Box Light
- Twist the light counterclockwise out of the back of the glove box
- Pull the light off its socket

step 3 :Installing the Glove Box Light
- Push the bulb onto the light socket
- Twist the light clockwise into the back of the glove box

step 4 :Installing the Glove Box
- Put the glove box into place using the locating pin
- Open the glove box
- Insert the five Phillips screws around the glove box
- Insert the two Phillips screws inside the glove box
- Close the glove box
- Insert the two Phillips screws at the bottom of the glove box
- Push the plastic clip into the side of the glove box

Remove this clip. It just screws in. You use a Phillips head screwdriver to pop it out. Pull it right out.
There's a screw here on the bottom and then one over here. Remove those two with a Phillips head screwdriver. Remove that screw. Over here, take this screw out.
Open the glove box. I already emptied it. You need to remove the one, two, three, four, five screws here and the two that are inside the glove box. With all those screws removed, pull the whole dash and glove box assembly out.
Change the glove box bulb. Just go to the back of it, turn it counter-clockwise. Little micro bulb just pulls straight out of the socket.
Put a new bulb in. Find the holes. Turn it clockwise and it locks it in place.
Reinstall the glove box. This pin here is going to snap into here and then reinstall all the screws. It helps if you open the glove box. Get this top screw first. Just reinstall all the screws again. Close the glove box. Install the two screws in the bottom. Finally, reinstall this push clip and screw it in place.
