Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the serpentine belt on this 2002 Volvo V70 with the 2.4 liter non-turbo engine. The items that you're going to need for this are a flat blade screwdriver and a 14mm socket and ratchet.

Start off by prying up your power steering bottle and setting it aside. Your tensioner for your serpentine belt's right here. Using a 14mm socket and ratchet just push down on the ratchet and it will release the tension on the belt so you can pull it off the pulley. Once you've pulled the belt off the first pulley you can carefully release the tension on the ratchet and then just pull the belt from the other pulleys, up, and out.

Now when you go to install your new serpentine belt you're going to want to follow this belt diagram. This is the path the belt should take. Just make sure that it matches this diagram once you're finished. We're going to fast foward because you can't really film this at all, but basically try and put the belt down around the crank pulley first, then up over the alternator, and then down on that lower pulley. Bring it up to the top. When you're on that last pulley, just put your 14mm socket and ratchet back onto the tensioner and then push down, and push your belt up onto that pulley, release the tensioner, and remove your ratchet. Next put your power steering bottle, line up these three tabs and put it back down into place. Then you're all set.
