In this video we're going to show you how to remove and put back on the interior door panel on the rear door on this 2002 GMC crew cab. This procedure could be slightly different if you have a 2003 or later truck. The only tools you'll need are a regular screwdriver, a 7 millimeter socket with ratchet and extension.
They are two 7 millimeter screws that you have to remove. They are bolts, one right in there and then one down the bottom over here. As well, you need to pry out this trim panel, pry out your lock button and pry out your window switch and disconnect it. First get your finger under, pull out that bezel, regular screw driver, stick it in the front there, lock your lock button, another switch also pry up gently there, in the front of it and then there's a little tab, get your screwdriver, push on it, hold the connector down and out and also pry out your light reflector, disconnect it, then your 7 millimeter socket ratchet extension.
Okay, we'll just speed up here as we remove those two 7 millimeter bolts. Once everything's unbolted and you just lift up on your panel and it comes off. Put your handle back on, make sure you bring this right up through here. Bring your courtesy light through. Get the white plastic legs down there. Get them resting in the door like that. Push the panel against the door. Slide it down nice and easy. Then this bolt next to the arm rest, I just put that in backwards.
