How to remove and install rear lift gate support struts on the 07 Mini Cooper S

step 1 :Removing the Lift Support Strut
- Have an assistant hold the hood
- Pry out the retainer on the hatch with a pick
- Repeat for the lower side
- Remove the strut

step 2 :Installing the Lift Support Strut
- Insert the strut into place
- Press the strut retainer into place
- Repeat for the other side

What's up guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. I'm going to show you today how to remove and reinstall the lift gate struts in this 2007 Mini Cooper S. If you need any parts for your vehicle check out 1aauto.com.
We're going to open the lift gate. There's a little button right under the Mini sign. Pop that open. You're going to want to have a friend help support the lift gate while you take these out, so it doesn't fall. I'm going to take a 90 pick, you can unlatch this lock right here. Just pull it out a little bit, and then you should be able to pull it off. We're going to do the same for this other side.
There's a little groove right there. Pull that off, and slide it out. You're going to do the same for the other side. It's a good idea to do these one at a time.
Now, we're going to reinstall it. Just slide this on the ball and socket, lock it in place, and do the same for the top, lock it in. You can close the lift gate
