How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken or snapped off interior door handle on 07 Honda Pilot.
Flat Blade Screwdriver
Needle nose pliers
To remove the door handle, you don't have to remove the window switch and trim. We just have that out so that you can see better what's going on.
To remove the inside door handle, pull the handle open. Take a small flat bladed screwdriver. Remove this trim cap that's in here. So you remove this trim panel, be careful not to drop it in here. Now take a paper towel or a rag just to put it in here, because I need to remove the Phillips head screws that are back here, and if I drop them I don't want them to go inside the door panel.
Bring out the door handle, slide it out. It's attached to the control rod. It's inside here. I'm going to take a flat bladed screwdriver and push the lock tab out to unlock it. I'm going to use a screwdriver to lift the rod out of the little bushing that it's in. And we've removed our handle.
So the control rod is going to go into this hole. Once it's all the way seated, you'll flip this around and lock it, and it won't come out. So I'm going to use some small needle nose pliers to grab the control rod, pull it out. Slide it up and in. Now that it's in, I can spin this clip around. It just needs to go down just a little bit more. It's seated. Then spin it all the way around. Got to get it locked in there.
This can sit. It has a little hook on this side. It's going to hook in and then push it in like that. Take our Phillips head screws and reinstall them. Reinstall our plastic trim cover. It's got two tabs on the top, and a tab on the bottom. The two tabs on the top are going to go in first.
