How to Install Mirror Assembly 2007-13 Mini Cooper S

How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken, smashed, cracked, or shattered side view mirror on 07 Mini Cooper S

  1. step 1 :Removing the Mirror
    • Turn the mirror to the side
    • Support the mirror by hand
    • Remove the two 5mm Allen bolts from the mirror base
    • Unplug the mirror electrical connector
  2. step 2 :Installing the Mirror
    • Plug in the mirror electrical connector
    • Line up the mirror using the studs
    • Fasten the two Allen bolts into the mirror base
    • Reposition the mirror

What's up guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. Today I'm going to show you how to install a mirror assembly on 2007 Mini Cooper S. If there's any parts you need for your vehicle, click link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.

To remove the mirror assembly, first I need to access the two bolts that go in there. I'll take the mirror and just twist it to the side, just like that. There's two Allen bolts. These are 5mm Allen bolts. I'm going to use an Allen socket and an extension and a ratchet to remove these bolts. I'm going to start loosening up this other one. Once they're getting pretty loose, make sure you support the mirror, so it doesn't just fall. Pull the mirror out a little bit and flip it over. Disconnect the electrical connector. There's two locks on the side. Squeeze those locks and pull the connector off. There's the mirror.

I’m going to install this connector. There’s two different tabs on this connector. See the little white tab? That's going to line up with this part of the connector. So just line that up, lock it in place, twist this around, and then there's two rods that go in these holes. Put that in position, take our Allen bolts, get those started, and get this other one started. I'll take my socket and extension, just snug these up by hand and then I'll snug it up with the ratchet. Move this a little bit, snug it up, and reposition the mirror.
