In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the rubber exhaust hangars on this '02 Sierra. This is basically the same for any '99 to '06 GM truck and some of the SUVs. It's a pretty easy thing to do. I just want to show it to you. You really don't even need any tools although some penetrating oil or just some regular oil makes things a lot easier.
There are pretty good exhaust systems on these trucks. You can see that the exhausts are still fine, but it wore out the hangar here, so I'm just going to put some penetrating oil on the outside. I pretty much just pull that one off. From the outside, it comes off.
I've got my new bushing, here. You can use the oil again. It makes it nice and slippery. I'm actually going to push it on here first. Grab the exhaust, pull it over, there you go. Replace that one. There are a few more. You can see that one is looking pretty tired. There's one up in front of the exhaust and even one right there. Good idea to check these once in a while, especially if you have rattling in your exhaust. Check them and replace them.
