How to Grease Drive Shafts 2007-14 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Hey friends, it's Lenny here at 1A Auto. Today we're working on a 2007 Toyota FJ cruiser, and I want to show you how to grease the driveshafts. There's a lot of grease fittings. I want to show you where they are and how to grease them. It's going to be very easy. If you need any parts, you can always check us out at 1aauto.com. Thanks.

So in the driveshafts, there's a total of six grease fittings. Okay? There's three in the rear driveshaft and then three in the forward driveshaft. You've got one where the U joint is right here, okay? We've got our grease gun, safety glasses, hand protection, of course. Just put a couple of pumps in there. Here we are. Get that off of there.

Come up here to this one. This one, wen you pump it, it's going to pump grease in here through the center of this shaft, fill up this, and then it should come out a little bit right here, okay, or you'll just see the driveshaft kind of want to expand. All this right here should be lubricated. This doesn't look like it's been lubricated in a long, long time. I'm just going to pump a whole bunch of grease in there, wait until I see some grease and or the driveshaft move a little bit. Might need more grease. There we are. Our driveshaft moved a little bit. Okay. That's good enough for that one. Just get this thing off of here.

Here's another one that goes to this U joint. Got to get a turn to the right angle, so hopefully we can get our hose on the fitting correctly. Here we are. There we go. Get this off of here. So on the forward driveshaft, you want to turn it so that the grease fittings are facing towards the passenger side. You have one right here that fills up the shaft right here, and then you have one that's located attached to the U joint, not the cup right there, but inside. Same thing like the rear. Okay?

So I'm going to go ahead and grease those. I'm just going to keep pumping it up here until we see the driveshaft move. There we are. Driveshaft's moving. Let's see. That's good. Get this off of here. Turn the driveshaft so we can get to that interfering. Try and push it along there. Trying to get your hand in here sometimes is interesting. It fits on. There we are. Got a little bit of grease coming out. That's good. We can spin the driveshaft. Got our grease fitting. Just going to put my grease gun on there, pump a little bit of grease in. Here we are. Coming out. Let's take this off of here. We've greased all the grease fittings going all the way down. Let's clean up our mess here, and off we go.
