step 1 :Fixing Shift Lock Release
- Pry the trim door on the shift lock trim
- Press the brake pedal
- Press the tab in the opening with a screwdriver
- Move the shifter to neutral
- Move the shifter
- To return, press the tab in the opening with a screwdriver
- Press the brake pedal
- Move the shifter to Park position
- Press the trim door to the shift lock trim

If you need to move your shifter and it's not working properly, and either you don't have your key. Your vehicle needs to get towed, and you need to pull it out of gear. What you can do is take a flat blade screwdriver and take this little cover off here.
With your foot on the brake, and you can take the screwdriver push this little tab down, then can move throughout the gears. Stick it in neutral and put it where it needs to go. Just make sure you have your foot on the brake. Put it back, and then we can put the cover back on. Just line it up, and push it down.
