Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you what it looks like when or what it sounds like actually when you're battery starts getting weak on one of these Saab 9-3's. These vehicles are known to be pretty finicky in their electrical department, and it's for sure on this one. The battery started getting weak, and it wouldn't start. I kind of expected that if I put a battery booster on it, it would start right up. The battery booster did not do it. The electrical system did not want to start the car with the booster on it, so you'll see what I mean in the next couple of clips.

Take this hose. Pull it out. These clips, you may have to turn with a flat blade screw driver to pull this up and off. All right, so you can see here I'm getting in the car. I've got a booster hooked up to the battery, the battery's not dead, but it is weak and the car wouldn't start. So I'm going to show you what it sounds like when you try and start the vehicle with a dead battery, even with a booster pack.

Now, here, we've got a new battery hooked up with no booster pack or anything. Now I'm just going to show you what it takes to replace your battery. Down in the front you can see a 13mm bolt. Remove that bolt and that little block of plastic and that is actually holding your battery down. Once you remove those, disconnect the cables with a 10mm wrench or a socket and ratchet, and then you can once you disconnect the cables you can pull the battery up and out.

Okay, then obviously, to reinstall, take that block and bolt and put it back down in. You'll have to put your socket and extension kind of on the bolt and guide it. Try and get one finger down in there and guide everything into the hole. Once you get it started just tighten it up nice and firm and then put your cover back in place. Then you'll be all set.
