Transfer Case Fluid
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
Hi, everyone. Sue here at 1A Auto, and today I'm going to show you how to check your transfer case fluid in a 2011 Ecoboost F150. If you need any parts for your car, click on the link below and head on over to 1aauto.com.
Here we have our transfer case, and here is clearly marked the drain plug and the fill plug. Located right there. These are 3/8ths drive, so I like to take a 1 inch extension on our 3/8ths ratchet.
To check your fluid, you open up the fill plug and take the plug out. Try to keep any dirt from getting inside. I'll take the pinky, and I'll put it straight in, dip it down just a little bit, and it should have fluid on it, which I don't on this. There it is.
So, to look up the fluid style and type, you'd go to your manual that comes with the vehicle, and it should give you clearly marked the type of fluid to put in your transfer case. Install the plug in reverse procedure.
