Under the hood of your 2005 Nissan Altima, you'll find your brake fluid reservoir. Your transmission dipstick is right here. Your engine oil dipstick is here, and your engine oil fill cap is here. Your radiator cap is right here. Your radiator overflow bottle is here. Your power steering fluid and your windshield washer fluid are both here.
To check the brake fluid, remove your cap, and it helps to put a light on the top. Look in here, and you can see the minimum line. The max line is pretty much at the bottom of the seam here. You want to be in between there. Take your light away, and fill that accordingly. Reinstall your cap, and push down.
To check your transmission fluid, pull out and up on this piece here. Use a rag. You want to check this while the vehicle is running. And in park, and you'll notice here that it says "Hot", you want to be in between the hash marks. On the other side is cold. After wiping it off, reinstall it all the way, pull it back out, and check your fluid. To fill it, install a skinny funnel right into the dipstick tube, and fill accordingly. Check it again until you're all set.
To check your oil, just pull up on the dipstick, and wipe it off completely. Reinstall it all the way, pull it back out and check. You want to be right in between these hash marks here. This is high, low. Reinstall it. To fill your oil, remove your cap, install a funnel, fill it. Reinstall your cap until it clicks.
For power steering fluid, you might have to wipe off the side here, and then you'll see the marks. The max lines is here. You want to have the vehicle hot, and you'd be able to see the minimum if you wipe that off too. To fill it, just twist the cap. It's obviously going to be a little higher because the vehicle's not hot. Reinstall the cap.
Your coolant overflow bottle, you can fill that from here if you need to. Your minimum and maximum line are located down here. Windshield washer fluid, you just pop the cap and fill to capacity.
