How to check the coolant level on 03 Volvo V70
Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
Hi, everyone. Sue here at 1A Auto. And today I'm going to show you how to check your coolant on an '03 Volvo V70 with a 2.4 liter. Non-turbo.
We're going to open the hood. The hood latch location is on the driver's side, the left leg kick panel. You reach in there and feel a handle. See it? Just give it a pull.
So the safety latch is located right here in the center. You just pull up the tab. And lift the hood open.
Once you've lifted your hood up, you can see your engine compartment. The coolant is located in the overflow canister fill tank on the passenger side. It's got this turquoise-green cover. And with the car cold and not running, we're going to open that up and check our fluid level.
So it looks like it's right there. They have indicators on the side. So this is max. And it is right a smidge below max. So we've got good level of coolant in our Volvo here. So we are going to leave it. If we needed to add, we would add. Only time to add coolant safely is when the engine cold. It has been sitting for a couple of hours. And then you can take this cover off. This is the only cover on this Volvo.
Make sure that you close that tight. All the way down to the bottom.
