Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to refill or top off your transmission fluid. This is a manual transmission car so if you have an automatic transmission the process would be totally different. We show you how to fill the manual transmission fluid in this Hyundai Elantra. You probably will need jack and jack stands although you may be able to get to the fill plug from above. You obviously will need the proper gear oil, and a small piece of rubber tubing. As well as a 17mm wrench or socket and ratchet.
Transmission fluid is driver's side front. This is where the fill is. I'm using a 17mm socket to loosen it.
I'm filling the transmission with appropriate fluid. I'm going to sneak it up here past the lower radiator hose in-between the radiator cooling fans and the engine itself. Letting the fluid pour in you'll know when it's filled because it'll start to drip out. I'm reinstalling the fill plug. You can replace the gasket if you want.
