How to check and fill your brake fluid on 09 Honda CR-V

  1. step 1 :Checking the Brake Fluid
    • Open the hood
    • Support the hood with the prop rod
    • Locate the brake fluid reservoir at the rear driver side of the engine bay
    • Check that the fluid is between the min and max lines on the reservoir
    • Before adding fluid, wipe the cap off with a rag
    • Twist off the cap
    • Add DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid as necessary
    • Line up the cap on the reservoir using the locating tabs
    • Twist the cap onto the reservoir
    • Lower the hood prop rod
    • Close the hood

We're going to release the hood, right by this footrest. Grab the lever right there and pull it out. Now, we're going to pull up on the hood. The release is right here. Just push that up. Release the hood, then you can grab the prop rod right here. Pull it up and stick it right there.

Here's your brake fluid reservoir, right here. As you can see, you can check the level. The min level is right there. The max level is right there.

If you were to need to add any, you're going to want to take a rag and wipe off the cap. You don't want any dust in there. And then you can grab the cap, turn it to the left. You can pull up. This vehicle requires DOT 3 brake fluid or DOT 4 brake fluid. You can add the brake fluid right there.

Then when you've done that, take the cap. You're going to line this little tab up over here and then push down and it'll click in place.

Close the hood. We're going to pull the prop rod out and put it back in its holder. Drop the hood.
